Since then he has worked in many productions in different capacities. Allen wasn’t happy with what he saw finally, and so decided that he would direct all the movies where he writes. The first movie he worked on was “What's New Pussycat”. He worked in Duplex, a Greenwich Village club. Later in 1961, Woody began working as a stand-up comedian. He then went on to work for the Caesar's Hour, where he was paid $1,500 a week. He wrote scripts for The Tonight Show, and the Ed Sullivan Show. He was making $75 a week, which was more than the combined income of both his parents. The long journey started for Allen when he started working as a humorist at the age of 19 years. Allen’s net worth currently stands at $65 million. He has been active in the movie industry since 1950.
